Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive line coach Karl Dunbar — beloved by both fans and players alike — has found a new home in the AFC.

On Wednesday, the New York Jets hired Dunbar as their new defensive line coach.

Dunbar, who spent the past eight seasons with Pittsburgh, previously served as the Jets’ defensive line coach from 2012–2014.

Having worked with several prominent defensive linemen and edge rushers over the course of his eight years in Pittsburgh — such as DT Cameron Heyward, OLB T.J. Watt, DE Stephon Tuitt, OLB Bud Dupree, and NT Javon Hargrave — Dunbar will no doubt be missed by Steelers Nation.

Pittsburgh’s new head coach, Mike McCarthy, previously replaced Dunbar with former Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Domata Peko, who was named the Steelers’ defensive line coach earlier in the week.
