Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas came into the 2025-26 NBA season presumably to increase his stock as much as possible prior to the February trade deadline if he wanted out. While there hasn't been any reporting suggesting that Thomas wants out of Brooklyn via trade, it seems that there are a couple of teams that have interest in the microwave-scoring guard.
HoopsHype's Michael Scotto reported on Wednesday that the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Milwaukee Bucks had trade interest in Thomas prior to Thursday's deadline, potentially setting the stage that he could be headed somewhere else within the next 24 hours. More to the point, Thomas is out for Thursday's game at the Orlando Magic due to personal reasons and that was mere minutes before Scotto reported the trade interest from other teams.

More to the point, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reported that Thomas wasn't on the team plane heading to Orlando, another possible indication of something happening with Thomas behind the scenes.
For example, forward Michael Porter Jr. recently missed the last two games of Brooklyn's most recent road trip due to personal reasons of his own, which he later explained was due to a death in the family. However, prior to Porter making the reason for his absence public, there were some who theorized that his being ruled out could be a precursor to him playing for another team given the rumors surrounding him throughout this season.
Thomas, 24, is having a down season compared to his past two seasons as he's averaging 15.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 39.9% from the field and 32.5% from three-point land in 24 games played. Thomas began this season as the starting shooting guard alongside rookie Ben Saraf, but the former LSU Tiger suffered a left hamstring in his ninth game of the campaign that cost him the following 20 games before he could return.
Prior to this season, Thomas went into restricted free-agency with the presumed hope of getting his first sizable payday in the NBA, either from the Nets or another team will to put forth an offer sheet. When neither of those events happened, Thomas came back to Brooklyn on a one-year, $6 million qualifying offer. Many predicted that Thomas would be playing for a different team at some point in the next year and it looks like that could happen as early as tomorrow.
